I use it quite a bit. It's good for blocking out a texture without wasting any time trying to remember what each little bit of wireframe is supposed to do or for just knocking out a lot of small textures quickly. Way too dark. You really need some contrasting levels of brightness and colours in that texture. Also, show us your texture flats.
