[ QUOTE ] Why doesn't the moon move??? [/ QUOTE ] Because the moon isn't chasing the sun around the world. Nice looking river in that video. Realistic water brings more life to these environments. Great simulator those guys at Crytek are making.
i either zbrush it straight onto the highpoly which gives more realistic results or i create shape from edge loop and then use the paint deform thing to make it blobby. i guess noise would work too.
The style is somewhat mixed. If you look at a Pixar film, their environments are as realistic as they can get them, but their shapes and forms are exaggerated. That's the style I'm going for. But if the tiles are sticking out to you, I'll have another look at them, thanks for the feedback
Love where this is heading! Great inspiration here for sure! Great use of the UDK material setup to produce some great looking and realistic results! Would you mind posting up some wireframes of your low-polys as well?
this is probably as far as i am going to take it.. after some great crits on my portfolio i have decided to work on more realistic subject matter and abandon the fantasy scifi stuff for a little a little while.. last update
Great improvement on the croc. The first concept was a bit creepy actually, since it had more or less realistic human proportions, and an animal head just slapped onto it. Remember! Big eyes = good guys. Small eyes = bad guys.
Which is a good idea if you don't go batshit insane, plan properly and stay realistic (NO MMO SHIT). We just about spent 15k on Warsoup now and we're only one month away from the vertical slice.
You should definitely apply for a job in a cinematics department somewhere. doing enviro stuff. Your obviously a realistic candidate for that sort of position, so they may offer advice if you ask for it, as far as what more they would like to see.
Yeah if you could do realtime AMBOCC i would make sweet, sweet love to you down by the fire. [edit] Or you could just bake it into your diffuse, i think that would be a lot more realistic =D
Oh nice ! Kept hearing about this lately. Funny how the most realistic models (Kris Costa) in a plain front view look very cheesy through this medium (ala holographic postcards) as opposed to the more graphic ones (Blanch
