Is your alpha map in the alpha channel of your diffuse? Did you make sure to save as 32 bit? -

As of version 3.6(Steam version), 32-bit isn't supported at all. 64-bit works with Windows 8. -

Interesting, what file format are you using? Do you happen to be using 16 or 32 bit textures? -

Photoshop will save a 16bit png, but not a 32. So If you're loading a 32bit image drop it down to 16bit first. -

Pretty much every CPU available now is 64 bit. It's hard to find a 32 bit CPU now.
