I don't think Google has aquired any unwilling companies, so far. It'd be a sign of desperation. Like Microsoft's desperation at being a relatively minor player in the online field, despite repeatedly throwing money at it. Which they tried to solve by buying up a slightly less irrelevant company.
Good luck getting this sorted. I do think you're going a bit out of bounds with posting his personal email account and airing it all out like this. You could do well to be a little more professional and discrete about solving your business problems on an open forum.
Sorry for double posting, but I figured it might be useful to someone. I solved this by using the gradient I described before, doing a UV map on the Y axis and fitting it to the model, using 100 as the self-illumination, and done! The results are exactly the same as the ones from a height map no matter the viewpoint.
To each his own i guess! :) I just like to be challenged by trying to dig out the knowledge myself, rather than by memorizing tables and rules. Then again, i can't wrap my head around simple math tables, others much prefer that over intuitive problem solving.
What's the lightmap resolution on the floor? Here's a quick image of what I mean and what should solve it. The platform on the left has a lightmap resolution of 64, the one on the right has one of 1. You'll wanna change this to 1 or 2 and that should give you nicer shadows :) If not, there's a problem with the mesh.
have you guys solved this problem yet? I am having the same problems as well :-( I'm using Maya and trying to export to .fbx to get it all into an engine called Beyond Virtual. (pretty much having the same problem :-\, plus my weights aren't exporting correctly either >_< )
perhaps you should have also taken courses in business management and solved that problem yourself. whatiz'it you were plannin on doin with all that fancy book learnin anyhow? You can't just walk up to someone and say, "hey, I'm a graphic designer, wanna hire me?"
by the way, scribblenauts is a puzzle/platformer so you're achievement goal is met there ---> get to the end of the level/solve a puzzle. "The player is also sometimes limited to a certain number of objects that he or she may summon in a level, and is required to complete each level using a different tool than was…
Flat normals in Toolbag (and most other applications that use normal maps) are 127.5, 127.5, 255. This is technically in between 7f7fff and 8080ff, but either of those should work. There is no way to remap the normal map input. Could you provide some more information about the problem you're trying to solve?
Thanks for that. I will definitely look into the turn-to-poly modifier as I have seen it used by Arrimus and others and it looks pretty useful. It is very strange especially considering it is a completely flat area. I ended up just triangulating that part manually before combining like you said and it solved it.
