Thanks Joe that means alot coming from you! I was going for a realistic amount wear Your right. Im having a hard time with the variation for the stock. I think might add some dried mud on the bipod legs. Reed
yeah the graphics that stood out to me were definately the faces and the battle rifle, whoever thier hard surface artist is, is doing sick work, also the engine seems to handle more/more realistic atmospheric effects. but seriously whar the TREEZ!!?
Alright, I incorporated most of the changes. Attempted to add some more realistic wear. I'm a total dumbass and was having a lot of problems syncing my materials from engine to engine. Mostly with Substance Designer but with GCX in Marmoset it's all fixed.
Your rocks are pretty amazing, sir! Have you seen this? [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tz7na7Y75o"]Sculpting a rocky surface - YouTube[/ame] (I'm learning to sculpt.. and try to make a realistic rock. This video helped me a lot)
Oh quick sidenote, I would prefer if I can fix it without cyclus. I know that cyclus node is made for realistic rendering and I've heard it's very hard to export cyclus materials to UE4 because it's an entirely different thing.
Really liking how those props look. Wear on the trash can seems a bit too strong in contrast to its surroundings but only a minor thing. I rarely see ultra clean environments that look realistic, so this is pretty awesome :)
@almighty_gir for a week... was this stylised, realistic, low poly, full workflow or just sculp etc? I'm currently trying to set up a decent frame for expected art tests within our team.. so trying to see how others approach it..
And here are the final renders and composition of the renders all done in Substance Painter. For the textures I wanted to go with a more realistic style instead of the painterly style in the concept. I had a lot of fun making it and definitely learned some new things.
Adding some general improvements to this bust I've neglected forever. 1 - Alieny fishy head is before, 2 - More realistic button nosed head is after. Not much to show, but these couple hours working on this is keeping my art heart ticking...
Tell me about it. A fellow kotaku commenter has started a flame war with me as we speak... http://kotaku.com/5825478/dear-valve-this-girl-wants-a-job?comment=41370094#comments Maybe I'm a dick. But at least I'm a realist. :/
