Depends on the Max version you are using there's a bug in the AVI output module, which produces broken AVI files when the file size exceeds 1GB. The AVI file simply gets truncated and does'nt grow any more after that limit. I think the bug is there since Max 2010 ( i can't remember when i reported it first) but my memory…
While I don't think Alex's initial "critique" was even remotely helpful, I don't think he should be berated for saying the images could use work. I thin the 3rd and 4th images are great. I'm not too terribly keen on the trees in the second - i've got a pet peeve with the leaves fanning out in odd directions on tree models.…
There are functions like CheapContrast: The CheapContrast function boosts the contrast of an input by remapping the high end of the histogram to a lower value, and the low end of the histogram to a higher one. This is similar to applying a Levels adjustment in Photoshop, and pulling the black and white flags in a bit. The…
I think you are having some trouble with the fur because the shapes you have created are very uniform and repetitive. Fur tends to lay in un-even clumps. I suggest looking at reference images of fur while sculpting and focus on the overall mass/shape of the clumps of fur. Also examine the directionality of the fur growth.…
Ah, okay, so all the assets are loaded into Unity, THEN they're loaded into this script. That makes sense. Awesome! The outdoor modular kit is pretty excellent! I had to use modular cliff faces here, and I've been planning modular cliffs ever since in my notebook:…
It's a strange site - it looks like time and effort was put into a nice banner, then the rest it just a bunch of images. Stylistically, it doesn't gel for me. I'd say it's a little wide, but I always say that. But it's a little too wide for my default browser size - so I had to widen it. Except all the content was on…
Thanks for the detailed critique, Frump. I will use the paintover as reference. Most of what you said was already on my list of things to do on the model. I like your idea about giving him a tattoo on one shoulder. I dont think I'll put runes on his sword, as it makes him look awfully bad ass, and I want him to seem more…
I think Dinc refers to the distance the ray has travelled from the incident point of the first interface to the second interface. To use the thickness, d, as a parameter you need to change OPD = Dinc*cosTheta2; to OPD = 2 * eta_2 * Thickness * cosTheta2; Yes. It is a factor of 1000. As for matching the images I think it is…
Super huge image with the node breakdown. the large cluster of orange nodes on the right are the depth buffer offsets in screen space. the depth buffer is spread out along the axis by adding and subtracting a small amount from the uv coordinates. All the samples are then added together and divided by the number of samples…
Don't like it. While your work is average, your presentation is harsh. Your site limits you. The user has to sit and load each imbedded image, wait to scroll through all your images. It's slow and clunky. Your concept art has 19 pieces. Trim it back to maybe 6-10 of your BEST work. You're only as good as your worst piece,…
