Hey guys, I was curious if it is possible to search the old Polycount message boards. When ever I try to, I get the Error 403 : Request Forbidden. I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of information I could find. Thanks =)
tbh if this is for concepts, why do you get locked up in such fine details? could you show what a final asset looks like for you? this super zoomed in piece full of errors might not be an issue after all when looked at in a grand scheme
Hey there Marmoset Support here, Can you provide a bit more detail about how its broken? Is it not working at all? Are you getting an error in the console, if so what does it say? Have you tried using update 4.06 yet? If not give it a try. If you're still having trouble can you send us your scene bundle? Open the Toolbag…
Try uploading your high/low .fbx's for us to take a look at. Other than your UV's needing to be more carefully unwrapped, relaxed, and packed, it could just be an projection error from your two models.
Camera mapping http://help.autodesk.com/view/3DSMAX/2020/ENU/?guid=GUID-DBA6ABCC-86FC-47F9-841D-29D8A84086A6 Be aware though, this is a really backward way of doing it, slow and error prone. But, you might like it.
Agree. Why you're seeing this problem... Normal maps are baked using something called a Tangent Basis. If the renderer doesn't use the same basis, you'll get lighting errors. http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Normal_Map_Technical_Details#Tangent_Basis
I'd only be willing to try this out for personal stuff if SP/SD/xN/TB3 could bake all UDIM tiles in one go and then specific ones as I see the need of fixing errors for certain areas.
Good stuff. If you do another one, something about what "Void", etc mean in the Maxscript help file would be nice. Also, some examples on common errors and what they mean would be nice, too.
Quick turnaround: http://vimeo.com/13891865 I'm having some weird errors where the ropes are flickering and I'm unsure why. Besides that, any comments about the presentation? Also, how do you embed video?
Alright for the isolate across multiple views i found a script; http://www.seneve.de/downloads/mel.php?lang=en It throws some errors at me when i use it, but it still seems to work. Now for that cheeky bevel.
