It would probably be easier to polymodel these instead of sculpting them. Especially if you were to change anything down the line such as moving details around as you'd otherwise need to re-sculpt them in a new location. I'd just model it in Max or whatever as that would give better control, but different strokes for…
i'm in lack of time to recreate the whole tutorial and gather the source files, i don't have them anymore. If its the math thats too hard to understand try http://www.khanacademy.org/ he is awesome and can teach math way better than any teacher i ever had, he can show you why you do things as opposed to brainbless repeat…
That wasnt the point. I thought many people here have gone through what I am doing. Rather than dropping out from college and studying game development off the net they took practically the same approach as me. I just wanted to know if that was true. And if it was true, how did they manage. Yes part of the moral of this…
I've used Xref for various things, not for that. It's an interesting idea, but I think I would prefer to keep as much editability before collapsing things for exporting to Zbrush, working with layers and Alt-Q for isolate has been working out pretty well so far. Exactly - I actually think it works better, a lot of times…
I did it just to try modelling from a concept art. I decided to make a time lapse. Take a Look.. Here is a small part of the modelling.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45tT8C6D5bM Here is a full timelapse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5SPsJiAY6E Still in progress.. I must to cleaner, texture, baked... and all the…
I think those lumpy areas you have are from you wanting to model too much. For some of those shapes just use primitives and model with them. instead of having to box model everything. like for example 1/4 of a cylinder could help with the angle of the back, top part of the bus. Also, some your edges are looking tight…
JordanN, WarrenM: Agreed I didn't refer to you before but I just want to say these are words of the wise which I fully respect! Mischievous: I sure know what you mean about nature being fake sometimes. MartinH: That sure is a great thread. Going straight to my inspiration folder. :) Brandon.LaFrance, Bigjohn: I absolutely…
Hey people! This is a new art piece I've made recently. This is a part of a bigger project so I'll be posting more new related stuff. So please meet Murmìllo Serpentàrian. He is come from one of the nearest universes, from a planet called Humidoràn. He is a high-class space pilot. His fellows named him Space Serpent for…
Cool beans Mikey, glad to see you finally posted. btw folks, Mikey spent most of his time on Gears2 cranking out awesome levels while trying to find time inbetween his scheduled work to still make cool art too! Oh and Sandbag, most of those assets were from the Hospital section, so continuity of art style did play its part.
This is the development of my composition... I decided to go for an astronaut robot, with maybe some parts which remember old soviet astronauts and spaceships. I decided that the scene would take place in a cold country on Earth since Willump is a Yeti. In that phase I was still figuring out the story in the image and how…
