I really like how you adding the stitching to the mask and the added detail to the batman symbol. I almost feel like there could be an on/off button added to the top of the batman symbol. Keep up the great work!
well I wasn't going for over-the-top Animated series proportions, but I can't say I was trying for less than ideal either. here's a few more tweaks, head size and elbow-belly button,
Does vB have a delete account+all posts+created threads feature? I know SMF does and it's a cool button when dealing with complete distruptive douches With a weapon like that, trolls are just a brush of the arm.
Lighting and post processing are not about pushing buttons or having the latest software, they are artistic concepts that once you learn, you will be able to apply to any software. So I wouldn't worry if that DVD is using an older version.
As I remember, there is a way to bake a texture as vertex colors. What you'd need to do is to simply bake it as a texture first, then assign it into a material as a texture. Then in the vertex paint modifier, there is a button to make vertex colors from that texture.
Oh wow thanks for that, that does seem like a better method, i was just worried about it not looking smooth enough. Also the buttons are a separate object from the fountain, though it might be hard to tell in those pictures.
Here is the basis for the tunic. A lot will be added to this later (straps, pouches, buttons, armor, ect.). It's around the deep end of 4 million polys so far. Now the fun part; I get to do the head of this Beast.
Yeah I was going to say you need some reference for the hat. I haven't checked reference, but I know from other designs that there will be a lot more detail from straps, buttons, material joins etc...
The tails of the coat should be split. You can see it a bit in the original concept, or in images of late eighteenth/early nineteenth century naval uniforms: Also, the epaulettes should be cloth-covered, with gold (or at least gilt) buttons.
@Dataday that's a really nice desk. Mine is sort of a disaster right now. I broke my secondary monitor trying to fix some stuck buttons on it and I haven't replaced it since I've been on a electronics kick.
