Hey polycounters. So This sculpt is due on Monday and I'm down to the last 20% polish. At this point I don't think I am going to wrestle with the pose anymore unless its anatomically incorrect. Next thing I'm going to work on is the hands, feet, and hair. and then I'm going to give a real good pass over everything else.…
Alright, so last night I decided to go for a walk. I was about 9:30 and pretty dark. I go into a nearby city park. I think it's supposed to be closed after dusk but a bunch of people still walk around there after dark. Anyway, after I walk around a bit, I glance backward, and out of the corner of my eye I see a tall man…
Also very good is that you can sell your lisence and as a hobby user get Modo pretty cheap if you have luck and look every second day in the Marketplace Forum, thats how i got mine :) and the Foundry do 2-3 times in the year a sale with 20-50% . What should be noted is that Modo behaves sometimes strange and you will have…
AD.2,3- Assign one smoothing group to the whole mesh or piece like one step, after that select a face or a group of faces (like the whole side of long stair) and use the script. Select the other side/ the other face and use script again ect. I had to make break/hard concave between steps, right? I did it by assigning…
The sculpts are well done but the textures could use a lot more work. Your textures have a lot of noise in them that really hurt your renders. Also you really have to think about material definition and understand what you are trying to recreate. Your metal and wood in all four shields look way different from each other…
I hate having to work at a retail job. I get so tired switching back and forth with opening and closing shifts :poly127: Two minor updates just so this thread doesn't fall back 20 pages. Started a few different models here and there as well as a ZBrush texture(still very much a WIP) that will probably be blended in some…
Check the size of the individual model's area of lightmap being used. The model may be using a very tiny portion of the lightmap if the scale of the model is too small. Set your "Indirect Resolution" to 0.1 and your render times will speed up a lot. 20 1024 lightmaps for that scene is a lot and I would take a look at the…
I've heard making art for Casinos both pays well and is very stable. And while it's true the game industry can be risky, I believe working for the 1st party developers (Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony) offers a bigger safety net than most 3rd party studios. Although SCE Liverpool and Lionhead show there's a still a chance of…
Working on a truck to fill out the map with. Plan is to have a trailer along with it so I can place them out in use of semi-cover. I'm trying to keep the structurual complexity low, which results in trying to cover up the drive axis, most of the frame and the trailer attachment cables, no interior. Reason to this is I got…
Bit of an update dump! Been trying to get ahead in my workload so that I'll actually have free time to start playing God of War later this week!! Day 20 was for any kind of exercise equipment, and a stationary bike seemed to be a fun idea to do. As it turns out, this asset ended up taking longer than expected, as most of…
