So, I finally got a chance to do more work on this challenge and here are a few initial quick zbrush sculpts of the shell and tree. Still just greyboxing the environment. Will keep posting updates once they are more game-ready models.
Awesome plans! I think I'll be different and spend this week planning. In the last challenge, the things that I had the most problems with/consumed the most time were elements I didn't account for initially. Here's hoping for a better turnaround!
Created the game res version and baked out an AO and Normal. Here's a snapshot of the WIP: [Edit: I've rendered out better quality screenshots of the game mesh and fixed a few minor things that were bugging me in the initial bake]
Wasn't it the US military that created the initial base platform for the internet? I think it was put together to allow the different departments of our military to increase communication efficiency. Al Gore stepped in and proposed that it be turned into something the public can use.
i guess I just dont understand why you need to do that initial RGB map. so are you just wanting a UVW map then? if so, you could just print screen of your unwrap UVW window.
Well, considering I had to take the first copy of Q4 I had back because one of the discs was bad, my INITIAL impressions could be better. =] I got a quick exchange and should be installing it tonight. I hope.
I also made a cloth that hangs from the robot's belt. initially, I wanted to do it all in marvelous designer, but in the end I did everything in 3D max, using the "cloth" modifier and slightly modified everything in z- brush.
Ah, thank you! I feel you- initially, she had a more hunched over run where she leaned further in, but it didn't feel right for her base travel speed. I'll probably use such an animation for sprinting.
I did another little test and it works fine on things a little less sticky out. I think for the sticky out thing it needs to have more fidelity to the initial model - although the rough seams still worry me. on
Amazing work! How long did it took you to take the initial concept to the final render? I'm very interested in knowing how to to design hard-surface assets. How did your learn to create your own concepts?
