lampoly, thanks for those images. 1) the lscm has no "memory", so it doesnt know how you adjusted them. however you might notice that currently two checkboxes are greyed out, which would allow you to "lock" vertices, or operate only on selected uv-faces. I am currently quite busy on other stuff, so I couldnt find time yet… -

the major draw back on the lickness, is the jaw and the way the skin/cheeks "hang" off the cheek bones. in refs the cheeck bones are higher ( in yours they appear to be where the five edged vertex is) and the skin hangs more vertically down. the jaw is also nearly as wide as the cheekbones (your face tapers too much)… -

If i had to nitpick i'd probably say that the ears have too much contrast compared to the rest of the skin. If the model is mirrored, there should be a row of polygons going over the center of her head, if so, i'd pull up the vertices on the top of the head. Some things I try to keep in mind. Reuse UVs as much as possible, by mirroring and overlapping. Place seams along natural boundries, preferrably in hidden or less-seen areas. As Ive always understood it, they are elements if they are separate from the primary mesh but still exist within the modifiable structure of the original mesh. If they are separate and require a unique modifier then they are objects. Mesh is a general term referring to the complex structure of vertices and edges.… -

How do you see this model being used? As a first person weapon? Isn't over 4k a little extreme? Aren't you better off making a 2K model and using a normal map for stuff like bevels instead of modeling them in? Seems to me that you'd get a much better visual result and besides, the model desperately needs some optimisation.… -

i use to stay with straight lines until the onjects are done, then i add additional stuff and pull some vertices. if i do it before i will have to spend more time matching UVs later.
