Those are IK bones, used for procedural animation in the engine. FK chains sometimes drift away from their expected position, for example when holding a weapon with two hands, so IK bones are used to ensure they stay in the right location. There was a presentation with the Fortnite developers talking about their animation…
Be forewarned, P.N.03 is very arcadey and timing-based (you and enemies have certain delays for all actions, you can only shoot while standing). There's no room for twitch gaming, everything must be planned about a second in advance. Many don't like that because they were expecting somehing closer to Devil May Cry.

Thanks, Scott.
they're still doing the death animation for that silly cow who hangs around with you it's shaping up to be the most spectacularly satisfying death-throe anim ever, clocking in at a full 23 minutes last time i heard with 670 different twitches, all beautifully randomising but fully blended, but then i think they decided…
All the combat built around card-based combat... so if you think of it as a more interactive card-game it might sit better. Hence the 750 skills, but you can only take 8 with you at a time. Its more about set up and execution than real-time twitching/attacking. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, though.
While I was working on my barbarian it crossed my mind that I should make like a diorama where he fights some demon so I ended up working on this. ~ 70 hours of work all streamed on twitch and available for my patrons on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/nimlot https://www.twitch.tv/nimlot26 More images, videos and marmoset…

Hey everyone! This is my most recent piece, Nightwing! Based it off of a piece by Corey Smith. I created this in 3 sessions on my Twitch stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/catherineconsiglio I sculpted and textured this in ZBrush, rendered in Blender, and then did a bit of post in Photoshop. Here is the project on…
I've been watching some Twitch streams and it seems like I could see myself playing this for a long time, I haven't been too into COD as of late but this looks like a breathe of fresh air even with the similar-ish mechanics. I registered for the PC beta hoping to get in, if anybody can somehow get me in...that would be…
