P-TEX has some "cons" but, 3d painting in games (stamping) seems to be the next big thing. Also LODs are probably going to be fazed out soon. just my 2 cents
You say your teacher is not qualified to advise you on 3D, but your are obviously not qualified to take good advise. Don't be stubborn and follow the tips this guys are giving you...my two cents :)
+1 for SSD I remember booting up 3DS Max at school and on my home computer (that has a SSD) and the load times are night and day. It might cost more but it's worth every cent.
Just thought I would throw in my 2 cents on the addition of the prop challenge. Great idea Alex. Keeps more people involved in the challenge and it's more accepting of lower skill levels.
A bajillion trillion GAZILLION Dollars, and 67 cents. It's so rad, cause I work at sony so they are giving me like 10 of them, and Im gonna sell them on ebay and retire.
congrats to all the polycounters on this project, it's a very solid looking game. for my two cents, the Splash Damage take on the Strogg is far superior to what showed up in Q4. kudos all around!
people seem to have the misconception that anything over 99 cents on the app store is expensive ;) $13 is cheap for a dictionary like "Japanese" - any alternative would set you back hundreds of dollars.
Im stoked to get to fool around with this awesome app. Just thrownin my 2 cents in and letting you know that my buttons dont seem to be working either. Still hopeful though!
I feel that lighting needs some more work. In my opinion its a bit dark right now, big parts of the plane are hardly readable because they are fully in the shadow. Maybe increase the overall exposure, or add an additional light source. those are my 2 cents. overall looks pretty cool
