Hey man, In both cases your foreshortening is really off and that its really destroying the feeling of space and the values are muddy making everything feel wobbly. If you pick 1 or 2 pieces I can draw into them in the coming weeks. As far as subject matter I'll only go over the 2 you directly posted. The first one is…
Rather than snidely disreguard this interesting discussion as futile, I'll try to contribute something meaningful. I realize there are some who weren't around for the first go round or it's successions, and who could benefit from hearing many points of view on this matter. Photosourcing is fine, I do alot of it. I use it…
From my end a guy trying to get into the industry but isn't desperate to break in here is my take. Most places list "Senior lead positions " and or 1-3 shipped titles or 5+ years experience. They never bother posting "particle gunt work guy". I understand they are trying to weed out/scare the crappy applicants but really…
Hey, flaagan, no worries, I guess it was me, who was rude and I beg your pardon for it. I wasn't too serious about it and I meant it more like a sarcastic joke than anything else. And even though I wasn't referring to US specifically I think you guys have got a lot on your plates as it is and I wouldn't want to see a…
I would stick to Max and Maya and stay away from the free software unless you aren't that serious and just want to mess around with 3D. Maya Personal Learning Edition is a pretty good place to start. But I found the free tutorials left me high and dry just when I needed them the most, after that they conveniently sell…
Aha. You're onto it. It most certainly is a smoothing group problem. I just removed all smoothing from my wheel, left it faceted, and the glitch disappeared. However then it also generated a nasty normal map with fake "seams" along where the edges are in the facets. I'll have to find a happy medium ... will post screenies…
It has been a while since I used Cascade, but a couple of quick crits (I'm assuming that you are going for a semi-cartoony/Diablo 3 look): Ice: Not sure why you present this in a different setting, doesn't really seem to add anything. You could try a bit of distortion on the crystals and varied their size a bit more. There…
The material definition is very off. I'll be honest with you, I can't tell for sure what material any of the parts are supposed to be. I mean I guess that the handle is supposed to be wood with some crystals on it and some leather straps wrapped around it, but I can only tell that from the colors and nothing else. So some…
Hey everyone! Welcome to the 93rd edition of the Bi-Monthly Environment Art Challenge for the months of November and December! This challenge is a way for real-time 3D artists to test their skills and create a piece of work based on concepts provided. It's open to those of all skill levels and we do our best to provide…
Hi Michael, thank you for your honest feedback. I understand your concerns regarding the use of AI-generated content, and I appreciate you taking the time to bring this up. The cover image was intended as a placeholder while I focus on developing the app. However, I completely understand how using AI art for promotional…
