Your steps are spot on overall, but they're very specific towards one type of work: organic/environmental. Even for this type of stuff though classic polygon modeling like in 3ds or Maya can do just as well. Just keep in mind that a studio might not be using zbrush, mental ray, etc at all. Another example of a different…
Why is this in the animation section of the forum? The focus of the reel is modeling and texturing, which would belong in 3D Art Showcase & Critiques. (Mods? @slipsius ?) A few things I see: + Deadpool diorama is fun! The chibi look is entertaining and well-executed. + Cool sharp & flowing forms on the Batmobile. + Good…
Since you asked here is some feedback that could help with the material definition. It looks like you need to accent the edges of the armor more, in both the spec and the diffuse. A lot of the edges and corners should be getting close to white. The spec for the metal looks like it should also be pushed more, it's currently…
Seems like we are all more or less familiar with that thing... I sometimes feel a bit of heat in the wrist, no pain tho. If that happens I try to stop working for a while and do something else. I hate typing since it requires you to hold your hands in mid hair without a base to rely upon, as opposed to natural writing that…
suburbum: Always a pleasure to rant you off to slumber :D Timmywithag: Haha you're too early, dude! I only just begun my career. Seriously, thanks though. I'm always flattered when someone tells me I've done something to inspire them. The rush from that has to be one of the most rewarding things in life. premium: Shine on…
I'm having some trouble with my foliage. I applied some dense grass through the foliage paint but the results are less than desirable. On the left is unbaked lighting and on the right is baked lighting: all black. What creates that effect? I figure the dark sections on the right are just from a single sided plane with…
I'm no expert on boobies, but shouldnt the breast, attached to her left arm, be pulled up with the arm ? I see the skin beeing streched but the breast itself seems the same as the right one. Maybe it's jjust the lighting or changing her "bra" accordingly might already do the trick. Looking forward to more results.
I have slight differences in colour/light in my exact same monitors. You know what I think its a good thing, as your end users will have variation in colour match too as they use different monitors, the more you can get it to look right across the board the better.
So far I did a game in Unity but I felt I need to learn UDK as well. So I made this simple building using built in meshes and materials in the program. I have loads of bugs right now especially with the lighting, but I will fix them definitely later. Good night!
