Am I positioning the lower poly over the high poly the correct way? Yellow is Low, Red is High: Should the lower poly be more bloated out? I just assumed it should match as close as possible to it's higher resolution cousin? I've experimented with editing the geometry but the details continue not to get baked correctly.
Hate to be the one to say it man but its just not anything worth commenting on. Unfortunately, the colors is what you should be concerned with the least. You should continue to just focus on anatomy and form before worrying about color or painting. Check out the sketchbook sub forum and how people practice their 2d skills…
Thanks for the feedback Doodlok! I have been using some softer brushes, but I can see how that can suck the character out of things. My materials are definitely not strong yet, looking at Riot illustrations kind of casts my work in stark relief. I look forward to your continued feedback!
New update, I did the base helmet and continue to sculpt the body: I'm thinking about doing a quick concept for the back, just because right now I don't really know where I'm going. After that I will finish to sculpt the body and I'll do the base of the equipement. Next update soon :)
Cheers, I'm pretty happy with it. Was going for a Clone Wars / Rebels sort of vibe. I might continue working on it sometime. Made some solid progress with the witcher inspired character. Norms baked and texture is now in progress. Some critique would be great! really wanna push it. Unsure where to take it texture wise.
Damn, I am sure I saw it was going to take a screenshot of it and upload it here, but it went right trough my brain.. I could have saved ZacD's life :( Anyway great game until where I have gotten stuck, pretty sure it will continue being great once I move on :)
continuing my study of asian facial features its still not very Asian i guess xD i keep trying to make them look pretty lmao i think i will practice a male Asian next time cause i don't do male faces in a very very long time
Submission is complete! [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kipD4hD8n58[/ame] It has been a blast and really awesome to see a little community of animators helping one and other out here on polycount. It is something we should aim to continue! Best of luck everyone, some really good work has been produced for this :)
Thanks to all of you :) I will be reading through those tutorials as soon as i am done typing this. Okay to answer the questions, No I do not have a tablet. Unwrapping I don't think I have a problem with and I will continue to texture what I am working on and post it in the pimping and previews :) Thanks again ^-^
I'm a goon and found this thread helpful building my last machine: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3458091 The OP is continually updated with current specs for a budget, value/performance sweet spot, performance breakdown and it explains a ton of shit. It's a lot of words but there is a section…
