Nice deduction there. Maybe, just maybe, go to a forum that predominantly caters to the dev/coding side of things? I'm sure with a quick google you will find one. Just an idea.
The floor pieces look a little bit weird to me, they look too rounded... or pillowy. Are they baked down to planes, or are they geometry like in the blockout. If they are geo, then the smoothing is def throwing it off.

To start I chose two different art styles that I could use for the creature: the beauty of god of the forest from Princess Mononoke and Guillermo del Toro creatures style.
Is there a place to get infos about syncing softwares ? Does it only play on tangent/binormals handling ? I'd like to talk about this to our devs and i'm not sure they're aware of it.
