When I moved to the UK I got myself a small-ish media center case which I could take as hand luggage. Not as powerful as a full workstation but better than a laptop. Of course there's downsides to expandability. E.g. no 2nd NIC, no dedicated soundcard, limited # of USB ports, and so on.
I liked the 2nd picture in the original with the bright green. It look like stylized, but not cartoon like many other games. In its current state some ambient occlusion or stronger lighting would be nice. Your fern/ground plants have no curvature to their leaves/branches, so they look unnatural.
Tiled higher-frequency edge wear is the way to go. 2nd UV is rather wasteful, it needs yet another texture in memory, and it increases the vertex count a lot (which isn't as much of a problem these days, but still relevant). I recommend vertex color masking. http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/MultiTexture
Already looks WAY better since you made a 2nd UV set for lightmaps. As said previously, you must do a HP for those pillars, they're not cutting it. Really like the stairs though, and your ground is MUCH better.... Keep going. Still lots to work on, but definitely closer.
you need more padding between UV shells in your 2nd uvset, also when creating your UV map, use snap to pixels, that way you dont get UV edges going halfway between a pixel, which can be a big problem with low res lightmaps
yea its an awesome place to work at, Im on the 2nd floor on true crime, while the upper floor is mod nation. I dunno if anyone from the mod nation team is on PC, but Twilson and a couple others are on the TC team. both floors are pretty similar, really comfortable place to work.
I am a student! 2nd year now :P Its good to hear what the vets do :D I will meet you in town at 10am Gir! can you pm me your number again? (although i know what you look like this time :P)

Hey there everyone, I made a few minor changes, and tried a different angle. (Cloud cards not corrected on 2nd shot). Do you think more negative space like this looks better? It's kind of cutting off the right side of the image now, but for the sake of clarity I believe that's alright.
Ape.of.Gods: No, you need to split the UVs too, break the UV edges on the same lines that you have made the lowpoly edges hard. If you don't split the UVs you are doing what Eld shows in the 2nd example down, which leads to seam bleeding as you can see.
