The value updates when you close the dialog. The MaxScript help says to always make sure the dialog is closed when changing render settings. See the not on the top of this page. http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/ENU/MAXScript-Help/files/GUID-30AF1E53-5A69-402D-84D6-4D6ECCDD6D20.htm
Cut Connect collapse chamfer extrude swiftloop Bridge Cap Boolean/sub/insert/union vertex cleaner Those are the only things I use, and I'm sure you can bind those or something similar to whatever major modeling program (weapons modeler @ ubi montreal, 3dsmax)
@TheQiwiman: can you send us your file at support@sketchfab.com so we can have a look? If you are using 3DsMax, Blender, Maya or C4D you can also use one of our exporters to upload directly from there. And we do support alpha transparency textures.
I'm really curious about source film maker and how much animation is actually possible inside it. I can't imagine it's as robust as something like maya... However, if you can't really animate in there, it seems like a terrible workflow of animating in a fake scene in 3dsmax, and then tweaking the animations in Source...
I don't know if it would interest anyone, but I made a kind of tutorial about how I proceed to make my offset mirroring using uvlayout. It personnally greatly simplify my process as I was mirroring and deleting polygons inside 3dsmax or Maya, and find it quite daunting comparing to this.
Hi danny, 3 suggestions: 1) Make sure there isnt a smoothing split along the mirroring edge 2) Make sure you are creating an averaged projection in xnormal 3) Evaluate your normals in the target engine. Newer versions of 3dsmax have really wacky normal map display.
Please don´t start a this app is better then this app flamewar. Each App has it´s pros and cons, just stick with the one you like most. And khalo just try the tutorials inside 3dsmax, they are good and after that you should at least know how to do the most important things.
I know what has happened here. There was a color shift from max to photoshop. In order to reverse the effect I assigned my monitor profile then converted to srgb space so now what you see in a color manged browser will match what my 3dsmax looks like.
You could try some dedicated 3d app channels like #maya, #3dsmax on efnet. they're quite highly populated a lot of the time and mostly helpful and friendly as long as you rtfm before asking noob questions. there also used to be #3dstudiomax on dalnet but haven't been there in a LOONG time.
If you are working with 3dsmax there is an option for texture filtering and prefered rendersizes , i think by default it´s something like 256*256 and you have to change it yourself(this is only for viewport if i´m not mistaken) But it looks like maya... do you get the same results if you render the image?
