Already looking so much better. I think you might want to get those dark shadow areas a bit lighter, the contrast is pretty harsh right now. Thats just my taste, but if you look at some of the ref posted earlier they don't have such harsh lighting.
It is not awesome yet but it is almost there. Right off the bat i would add torches or candles something to light the houses at night. The wood thing on the water that looks white needs to be fixed. The barrel textures are dark can barely see any detail. The towers are nice the trees as well. Keep it going.
@SimonT: thanks for the crit and your right...ill change my lighting direction from the right side of the image light the houses and the terrain better ... that diablo reference image is great ill look up more... im also changing that get out paint on the sign there doesn't look right!! and im adding walking trail on the…
Thanks for those insights guys. So it seems that the general opinion is that the texturing/rendering on the old pieces is letting the whole portfolio down. I don't have access to my workstation right now because I'm moving, but off the top of my head I'm pretty sure I have the source files for everything but the…
Another Ringling poster! This scene is 'OK' by all standards, just lacks a purpose. U have a lot of words, but no clear sentence. Lighting is the weakest element Start by narrowing ur palette and differentiating the outdoors' (background) color from the indoors'. Kill all the ambient lights Identify the major shapes of ur…
This week was a bit rough since I had to fight Maya for a few days but I still managed to make some good progress. I finally began sculpting after spending last week prepping the models and I couldn't be happier as I've been dying to start sculpting. I used the chain as a warm-up to get back into the swing of things since…
This is really cool! I've always been a huge fan of the original Fallout installments, so the isometric-type view you have going has got me nostalgia'ing pretty hard. I really love the look, the lighting and ambiance looks great in all your different lighting versions. I'm not sure how you plan to use this, but if this is…
I agree with what CarkK3D is saying about work flow. It's the best way to reduce reworking any areas. The new Spec looks better, however, the textures still look very flat. I know that you mentioned that you were doing some sculpting in Zbrush, can you show some of those sculpts? I think that you're normal map, might be a…
:D Thank you so much guys! felipefrango - if by these you mean all of my props and stuff. I am using either 3point or Marmoset. Specifically for the rat... I used marmoset. Whenever I need the light control I like marmoset for that. 3point I can really get some nice reflections but I am limited to 3 lights and it is hard…
Thanks for all the great feedback! I have an orange main light in the scene but I might need to boost it up a litte I'm just worried about my bricks as they are picking up a lot of the lights color( they are actually greyish blue) but I'll tug a little with the sliders! Yep its the default sky(shame) I'm just not that…
