You need more work on the normal map. Why is the wood not normal mapped?, seems it lacks depth. Also get rid of the bottom of the barrel texture. Players aren't going to see that, as it is useless geo. It will also let you have more space on your texture page so that you have more pixels to work with. -Rude
i downloaded it, played it for 20 seconds, uninstalled. You'd think with the use of the unreal 3 engine, they could a bit more effort into graphics. The normal maps were blurry and pixelated. (geforce 6800 GT) the small evnirovment didn't really off the engine well. Hopefully, more games will come out as demos that use the…
I'm no expert, but you could have smooth shading turned off? that makes it look really pixelated compared to the smoothness when you have it on. other things, make sure you have a smooth fall-off set or check you don't have a stamp selected to be used because this will make the edges jagged too
[ QUOTE ] that'd be easier and more sensible than using a big transparent GIF. [/ QUOTE ] A 1x1 pixel gif isn't that big really. I need to spend more time learning CSS. I just use it to make editing some aspects of several pages all at once. And those cool colored scrollbars OMG!!!
We can't really see the weird bit around the eye. The images you posted don't make it easy to see - the bit you want critique on is about 10 pixels across, and is white on black. A good technique is to render on a neutral background, with wires overlaying the image. For example - take a few better shots and post those…
You could try this test to figure out if it's bug in your 3dc version or maybe a graphics card driver one or it's with your model (maybe overlapping or stray faces not apparent in your unwrap view). Load your model but let 3dc apply it's own auto uv mapping. Then try to paint per pixel or projection.
Should be interesting. I kind of wish the specs would be lower... every damn contest now has you throwing mountains of triangles and pixels at a project, assuming the more you have the awesomer it will be. I'm totally making a wind-mill driven automaton that shoots special effects out of his nipples. and his nipples are…
I tend to use the zoom tool for close up detail. it gets a bit more pixelled out, but the performance is great. only problem is that it locks the rotation when you are that close in re the max/zbrush differences in the perspective view, I just check between the two every so often to make sure there is not some weirdness…
Boy am I regretting trying this at 4096...looks nice but SLLOOWWWW... MR is way faster but I too get the missing pixels here and there. kanga what did you end up using to make it work for you? You kept saying "worked", "didn't work", so many times I lost track in this thread...
Oh its a little cowboy* and the red pixels aren't blood those are people huh, interesting. I thought it was a thug with a green bat this whole time. Did the other cowboys make fun of his tiny pistol? Is that why he went on a spree? *Added to the list of things you learn when not expecting to learn anything...
