The microsoft optical mice I've been using for about 8 years now have consistently moved the cursor where I've expected, managed to click exactly when I've wanted, and haven't caused any uncomfortable feelings across any limbs or digits But clearly that's just SHIT
Thats your typical Maya alpha sorting problem. If you're using Maya 8, theres a setting under "Shading" in the viewport menu called "Object Alpha Sorting", or something to that effect that will fix your problems. If you're using an earlier version of Maya you're pretty much stuck with it.
think he was refering to the cuts, like the big honking circular hole, keep the whole, but you don't need to cut it into the wall, you can use an 6 or 8 sided hole and just drop the other ring into the hole looks exactly the same without all that extra polies.
I wish I could crank up the graphics a bit more, I have everything maxed with just a 9800GT, like some AA on those black lines? just hit level 8 last night, don't have too much time to play this right now.
Who the hell would play this mod? The only thing I like about this are the hands and the skin tones. 8-) Looking really nice man. I think you could use a bit more localized damage as he looks a bit pristine at the moment. Good work though.
Yeeeah I was very interested back when I saw the first tech demos. Then it went silent, then it became console exclusive, then it became linear instead of free roaming, then they pushed the visuals down a notch to fit consoles, then it became 6-8 hours long. Then I lost interest.
I have this image in my head of an enclosure with an air vent pointed at you and a tie rack inside. Hanging from the tie rack are little trees, and when prompted, the tie rack rotates to slot 8 or sweaty armpit, and the vent gives you a blast of the sweaty armpit goodness!
For those of you like me who havent bought it yet, GO BUY IT NOW. Its 7.99 at circuit city. Or just grab the ad out of your paper and do the pricematch at best buy. I just did that. Got my solid copy for 8 bucks. gogogogogo
I'm loving the demo so far, but I'm seeing a problem. Most of the included shaders (even the ones under 8 nodes) do not show up on the model. I apply the shader to it, and the model goes completely black. I've tried using all of the shader model variants with no luck.
well apparently the implementation of horizon mapping in my engine only increases the memory usage by 3 times, where as in most implementations it can go up to 8-16. so i'll still use it sparingly but i don't need to worry too much about memory issues.
