http://www.cglearning.com/category/3dsmax/page/4/ Here are few tutorials of making male and female. The difference is, Male head and lips are bit slimer and wider than female lips. It has few scars and the jaw is wider. Also the forehead is wider. Female head is a little slimmer, and jaw is almost V shaped and slimmer.…
That was my point, it doesn't get installed in the 3dsmax folder, but in a totally other folder (somewhere in the user/appdata folder wich is totally somewhere else). Wich is why I said "search for "xoliul" on your C:/" Anyway, with that "fix" I posted it works fine here. So to iterate: -Go to your max folder -> Scripts ->…
Hello, I think we have a problem related to this topic and we're discussing it here: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=137918 May I ask you why you need that FBX? Perhaps it's the same reason why we need it too: export material IDs from Maya/3dsMax and load them in DDO with something like the old "material…
if you use a superspray particle system you should be able to set the particle type to "metaparticles" These should be pretty convincing water droplets. Or try using a blobmesh linked to particles - or any other kind of geometry.…
Hi guys, thanks Igami, I start to know better this bad girl, but any feedback is really appreciated! @Scythe: thanks! @Kiyamlol: I used Zbrush to reshape the base human mesh, then all 3DsMax over the body. Now it's time to move to zbrush and place some skin/armor details.. I just made a quick pose with transpose master to…
Started modeling assets for the environment. The plan is still to eventually create a sewer level in UDK inspired by this scene. So I am creating each object as its own stand alone asset with a budget of no more than 5k triangles per. Here's the first, the furnace.... 3DSMax, xNormal, Photoshop 4930 triangles Will work on…
Your easiest bet is to go the 3D paint route. There are quite a few apps that alow you to paint directly on the model, 3DCoat, Zbrush, Bodypaint... I think maybe the latest version of 3dsmax has some tools to do it as well? For simple rock stuff like gravestones, sometimes I go ahead and do the texture right on the hipoly…
It's been a while since I've done any hardcore modelling in 3dsmax, but I used to select an edge ring (my hotkey for that is R, not sure what the default is), then convert the result into polygons (CTRL+4, I think it's the default hotkey). That'll give you all the polys in a loop. No idea if the releases newer than 2008…
With 3dsMax there was no other way because it was crashing at a unacceptable rate (still buggy to this date but improved a hell lot since max9). Photoshop was in the past always very stable- but tends to get more of a bloat ware and not anymore 99% stable. I had a few crashes with CS3: it usually would just close itself…
M<aybe you could use a proggy like Ultramon (not freeware, but there are progs like it for free) to minimize the hassle? I have ctrl-\ (with the \ next to my 'z' key [logitech navigator]) mapped to switch the mouse/tablet cursor between monitors. Works great for me...with the exception that 3dsmax just won't run correctly…
