'No voice-over or tutorial instructions. It’s just set to a continuous annoying gay disco track. AVOID!' Ouch, haz. Looks like the critics are a bit harsh with your content. I should put up entire irc chatlog of #model_design and set up a web store to sell a printed book of it. $__$
I didn't have a ton of time to work on things last week. I did make the map a bit more exciting and got the keycards and doors in there. I'm also working on some switches, started to texture them last week and hoping to have them done this week. Progress continues!
I think the bottom part of that curve is when u become protective of ur work, when u don't wonna ruin it and find it troubling to continue working on it. The core solution is: never be afraid to ruin what u just did. Stay loose, free and keep ur workflow fresh.
You can uv the base mesh so that the trim border is a continuous tiling strip. When you use noisemaker to create the pattern, make sure you set it to use UVs instead of the default 3d projection. I went crazy with noisemaker using this technique on the bread basket below :
have no idea what omni is. yeah i came to that conclusion too, which is it going to be? sort of far ahead to redo it so I'll just continue on but try to make it more SCAR-ish. Purpose is for fun.. no implementation planned. Where is it too blocky, some part I can redo?
I know i just updated but i can't go to sleep so I continued working. Worked on the face; not half bad if I say so myself; always more room for improvement though and i think that'd be turning up the contrast on her a bit for the hood shadowing.
Cheers for the advice, For the second it would mean a stopwatch timer activating and becoming visible in the top of the screen after being activated by a box trigger, and would continue to count upwards until the player reaches a second box trigger which stops the timer and displays the final time on screen for a few…
Fixed the proportions. I do not know why I didn't fix them before. A case of poo brain probably. X) Thanks for the crit! I will work on the areas you mentioned. I still have a lot of details to work out, and I will continue to post progress as I go.
@Apolloman thanks! I'm glad you like it. I've just recently started honing in on the environment side. Good to here that is coming through. I hope to continue pushing that. Looks like this thread got double posted. Here is my most recent painting. Adding to this thread. Tavern in a Cavern.
N88tr: The triangulation was what the old artist did, our engine does not require that I triangulate anyway. Since I am redoing these from scratch, I decided to define my own topology. Thanks for the comments all, more pprogress shots will be posted as I continue to redo these models.
