Aaaaaand now SOPA. This is rediculous people. I can't believe that the government is killing off every right we have left. They trying to put a tight clamp on the internet and how we send/receive news. It's our only source for true news, not ratings driven news but actual news. Every single portal to which we found out…
Yes, when you model the pieces seperately you can unwrap them as such. Each time you unwrap a section, just place off to the side of the 0-1 space. When you are done unwrapping all the pieces, then you can select all of them and apply an unwrap mod to all of them at once. Voila, all the pieces will still be where you…
NICE! I like what you did, it checks a few more elements other than just one which can be handy, but I do like having them as separate functions because I call them at different times from other tools that I've written. I changed this to toggle off the bottom bars and dock the ribbon at the bottom of the screen where it…
I totally agree with Jonny, go make art, do it DW/UC specs if you want. It sucks that the art you make on your own won't get that level of exposure but honestly its gotten so big that there is a lot of amazing art that goes by unnoticed already. Really, 5 months into 2010 half a year after the contest ended. Wow,…
If you are currently a "Lead 3D Artist" are you only applying for lead positions? Some studios may think you would expect to be in a lead position even if you are applying for a non-lead role. Also you don't mention any people management skills in your current role. A lead can lead a team and managing other employees is…
Thank you for your comment, this definitely gives me a lot to work on before I think about the materials. I think I'll fix up the normal mapping issues you pointed out and then come back to the texture. For the normal map, I only made high polys of things that I thought had lots of surface detail, like the badge thing,…
Hey man, lookin' sharp!! I can't speak much on the industry side of things so I won't be much help on that end. Really the only comment I can make is maybe consider moving the helmet guy up one image. I think it shows off your modeling skills and definitely has some complexity to it. I feel like having the helmet come…
Just to add if noone else has. I'm not saying you should spend a fortune on getting a good website but on it first opening my first impressions were damaged from the poor website design. That about me just looks like it's just dangling off the bottom and not in a real place. So sort the appearance of that out. You can get…
Nizza_waaarg - thanks man, was thinking about asking you the same lolz Moosey_G - take a look at darunia http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/5128/316563-oot_darunia_super.gif he has this "warrior" sense that i liked and wanted to carry it over. im not making a general goron, im making the infant through my interpretation.…
Personally I would create the joints (bones, dummies whatever) and then skin the mesh to it. There are a few reasons for this: 1) If you haven't reset the scale/transform on the mesh it will deform and behave oddly when linked to something, if it's skinned it won't do that. 2) When you delete (not collapse) the skin…
