Speedy sculpt I wanted to spend a little more time on. Based on Ian Carmichael from Ealing Studios comedies. Not an exact likeness as I deviated a bit. Initial speed sculpt: http://vimeo.com/117311256
hey all! my idea was to do a storm spirit set based around monks. Here is my initial concept that i'll be evolving into a badass set within a few weeks (hopefully). Please crit away.
You might be better off modelling in the details that you need without worrying too much about mesh flow initially and then cleaning up the errant edges once you've got your forms down.
When does people get the pin?already given out or given out the day the winners are announced? initially i hoped to win (as with everyone),but all these make mine look even worse than it already is...
Looking good to me initially. Keep cracking! If it helps, it might make life easier to separate the exoskeleton plates as separate subtools since there seems to be a lot of interconnected forms in physically awkward places underneath the armor.
I'd like to know this too, I feel exactly the same way. I was so hyped for it when I saw the initial trailers. Played the beta from day 1 and unfortunately the boredom grew by the minute.
Awesome bring on the models! Awesome initiative as a teacher i must say. Teaching about how to take critisism is something i never got, that why i never post any of my stuff here .__.
New WIP screenshot of most recent updates this evening including the finalized poses for statues and an updated throne as the previous one was definitely not of my liking. Now time for some UVing and some initial base texturing.
I'm a big fan of Sculptris's ability to jump in and block out rough form and initial details without thinking about subdivisions and topology, it's the perfect 3D sculpt-sketching pgm (for organics)...and zbrush is the super tool
The last action is quite nice, where he pushes the door to the side. The first punch and body slam looks odd, it's as if the door is magnetic and he's made of metal. It doesn't feel like he is the initiating the action.
