Hello, I have animated a vertical shutter with slats using a Path Deform modifier. Upon exporting to FBX the keyframes are lost. As seen in other threads, people found a solution by using collapseTo, to 'bake' the keyframes. Unfortunately, this doesnt seem to work. Currently the only available option (at this time) is to…
it's probably catching the top of the handle below the handguard. Try reducing projection distances in the baker. You could also try using absolute projection distances rather than proportions of the bounding volume - with objects that are very non-square like this the porportional distances can be troublesome if that…
Hi everyone! My name is Luis Gabriel Gutiérrez, and I'm a Digital Matte Painter and Environment Artist with over 6 years of experience in VFX and animation. I’ve had the opportunity to work on projects such as One Piece (Live Action), Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie, The Walking Dead, and Horizon: An American Saga. I…
I get that feeling too. A lot of mainstream tools seem to optimize for stability and compatibility rather than radical change. Once a workflow becomes industry standard, everything around it tends to reinforce that direction, because production pipelines depend on predictability. But historically most shifts in content…
Painting in Blender is a bit of a mixed bag - it's projection and cloning is pretty good. However, it doesn't have image layers (like Photoshop), can't flood fill, things like that. Most of that is being worked on (GSoC starts up here shortly and a guy has several little things he plans on fixing). Here are some texture…
That's good advice to follow PixelMasher. You are correct in your assumption, because every company that has "screwed me over" has been a small indie company. I just feel that when you get down to it, art is art no matter the product, and there should be laws or contracts protecting it. Every other piece of public art has…
Greetings polycount, too long to show you our work! We have been working hard on the project and today we want to show our Blend Top Shader . It works with the Heigh Map and normal direction to paint a second texture. We hope you like , see you! https://youtu.be/ijXMunoK8LU Next time we will show you some gameplay, get…
I haven't updated in a while, but I'm still trying to finish my project. One problem is that this week is also the last week before my retirement from my day job. A successor has been hired, but has not been cleared yet so I'm writing a instruction manual of sorts to help him out. Meanwhile the project is taking shape…
Hi kosh3d, thanks for advice and for the link. It's really really usefull to me! I will probably screenshot it to be honest. I want to learn a good workflow and have a bit of planned approach every time I start a project. Also want to get somewhat ok portfolio to be able to look for any jobs(freelance, part time, doesn't…
I have had to deal with a similar situation, my work around ended up being to store a morph target, Z project all the detail and then use the morph brush on low opacity to reach the desired result. Hopefully that helps. cheers~
