Well I've always had a love for hand painted textures but never had a real go at it myself. So, how am I doing? @christopheduron i started to paint in blender for the the handle, but i got back to photoshop quickly because my UVs are flat anyway, plus i had the curvature map from the sculpt to help me, so it wasn't hard to paint without the 3d model for this one -

I agree, the harsh lighting (the shadows, actually) kills it and makes it look really really cg and bland. It's hard to really dig into the texturing work with that lighting.
