On your reference, there are more obvious white marks all over the apple, would be cool to see those. Really though, not much of a need to go back and add that in, you did a great job. Actually thought the first image was your reference at first haha
This is really awesome and I really like how the shack is rendered out. Have you thought of adding post like fog or something to that affect to add another level. The rocks are really cool did you sculpt them? Keep up the awesome work!
Finished! I admit fully to struggling with the metal textures as I haven't done a lot of that material. Looking forward to getting better. On to the next piece. The goal of this exercise was more handpainting. I only did a diffuse in the attempts to learn how to add value to the piece.
Agreed with Sectaurs on every point he makes, to which I'd add that whatever you did to the wood also affects the metal. That random looking, splotchy colour burn look to things, it's flattening things despite the high contrast because there's no identifiable light source.
Hey! I did some work on the back today. I'm probably going to make a few changes, and I'd also like to add some threads in the designated area: It's time to make those hands... oh lord. :) Thanks to Hazardous for additional advice. - Andr
How important is it to have hi-res images in the gallery? Im thinking about whether or not to add it and how to solve it technically. i really like this single page idea without having to click stuff. (actually did it before reading this thread) take care
@Alex Javor so i figured out a solution and for everyone else wondering how to fix this, what i did was go back into photoshop, add a box blur of around 4, then re-printed the alphas onto the model, worked like a charm! Here is a pic.
Did you use a super heavy brush setting for painting over the skew? That happens sometimes, try a softer brush? The best option is to add a loop right in the middle of that and remove it after bake (assuming you have hard edges and the mesh shading doesn't change)
Hello Polycount :) I worked on another female bust. Started from zspheres again and I did not add hair yet as I am not sure what am i doing with this head - I might use it for a full character :) So better, worst? Thanks.
Very nice! But you should fix the shin guards... they're toor round and dont look like metal at all. I love what you did with the face. But I see no scars. you should add some wounds or something. still, amazing job!
