thanks Lamont. Seen a bunch of scripts that do it that way. Gonna try and re-write this script with set functionality like MoP suggested and move this to python and maybe learn some pyQT along the way. Let me know what you cook up with it :)
My current favorite podcast is Roguelike Radio. It's mostly focused on game design. Also, Polycount's search function kinda sucks. Use Google to properly search Polycount by typing something like this into your browser's search box instead: site:www.polycount.com/forum/ podcast
Yeah thats what I was gonna suggest. By subtracting the vert position from the locator position, you get a vector. There should then be a length() function to determine the length of the vector. Loop that to find the shortest vector and that gives you the closest locator to the vert. Rinse and repeat.
It looks like when the boards moved and the old themes disappeared. I think they've always had every intention of discontinuing the old themes once the board was fully functional. Most people liked the new themes (what you see now) and kept it.
Very cool photos I'm also a big fan of the macro function on my Canon SD200. It's cheap and dirty, but does the trick. I love taking close-ups of insects and such. Of course, if the lighting is bad or I don't have a tripod, its almost impossible...
looks sweet! looks like it's a browser, so you'd have to save it with this script as sama.van is saying, then it'll register with a thumbnail which it exports using a playblast type thing or something. So it just tries to overwrite your save function with its own is all.
I'm gonna throw in a plug here my own software: CrazyBump's mixer gives better results than a Photoshop overlay. It uses a different blend function which doesn't damage your normals. If you care to try it, grab the beta from www.crazybump.com
Actually he spend less that 100$ acording to the article, but he got some really cheap deals (almost "once in a life-time" like deals). It's pretty cool, but you really need some L337 "modding" skills to turn that into a really functional device.
Max mostly, some projects are Maya. Z-Brush is pretty commonly used as well. I'll also back up Rick in recommending Max 8. They finally added the functionality to Unwrap that I'd been bitching about to them for years. Cylindrical map, anyone?
I don't think you can rotate while creating a spline. Not sure why you would need to? Also, are you trying to make a complicated cut around several polys? Why not use the connect function? It works as an edge selection or a vertice selection.
