the last render, to me, shouts "GIVE ME A SPECULAR MAP NAO!!!" with the lighting you've gone for, it just doesn't sit well without the spec coming off the mesh.
i blame bobo for this entirely, but apparently my hardware specs aren't what they're looking for in a beta tester. (dont do 5600+ X2, with 8800, and gig of ram)
metal is too diverse to be textured in one way, personally i start with photo refs, but often dim the detail in the diffuse and let the reflection/spec map do the work

until you play around with it and drop it by accident. looks good :P anything else new besides it being wireless? is it just as good specs as intuos 3 or better?
A shader would be awesome imo, and would save me a hell of alot of work. But thats up to them, im just in it for the modeling practice :P. Small bump and spec.
Cool. I guess all of this is just oldschool diffuse textures? No normals or spec or anything? Nice work ... makes me wanna try some more environment stuff
