in beauty shot , lighting calculated based on specular textures as well as post process setting ,,, it was intentional which in some area , in real world and photography we have over exposed areas ,,,this feels more realistic :)
Thanks for the heads-up. I thought you had to move them to stop there being baking errors? -the sections are all different lengths. -and how can you bake realistic AO when they are all stacked?
Inverted Shlick fresnel mul by lambert term would the one way to do that, although it wouldn't make any sense to add an extra instruction cost to it, when half-lambert would be more then realistic enough.
Thanks man, i want it to look like the cartoons so it will not look realistic. I am talking about the black lines like in borderlands (cell-shading) or am i using the term wrong :O
The proportions looks wierd. The legs seems too short (compared it to this reference). Are you trying to model a character from the games workshop universe (but with realistic proportions) or a character which meets the criteria for using as miniature on the tabletop ?
hello Liz Shaw. I do texture drawings for handpainted models like few of my works in a portfolio. I do realistic textures for my models too. But my I am 3d artist.
@Baddcog: Thanks for the advice, I tweaked the highpoly model, so that there wouldn't be a gap between the vents. It doesn't look realistic on the highpoly, but it bakes better, and that is what really matters. Here's a render with the new normal map:
@Maxilator true. Then please tell us where your heading with your portfolio or what you want to achieve with it. The Diablo shot of course is completely exaggerated. But even the most realistic game has to advertise somehow.
Looking good. It reminds of turtle that evolve out of his shell and given up his defensive abilities for more of an offensives type. If you're going for non realistic type, you should go for that idea. =D
None of the textures reading World of Warcraft art style, atm. The wood especially lacks the chunky highlights and thick lines from existing WoW art. Unless you were aiming to make realistic textures?
