Oh wow, this is really one of the most inefficient uv maps i've seen in a long time. Most everything here can be done with tiling textures, a good AO bake on a 2nd uv channel, and some decals for unique damage.
here is the UV set for the 2nd dress i did to see about this re importing thing. I had never done it before so i was testing it just with a new UV set on the import. As you can see there is no overlap.
grabbin the album now. not to worry though, i will be purchasing it on the 2nd also. I just cannot wait any longer. Been pumping AEnima and Salival lately to build the anticipation. My god I love Third Eye on Salival.
Yea for being your 2nd shot you are doing really well. You have a good since of form and where to make your cuts. You'll only get better with the more stuff you make so keep it up.
Getting a feeling that thread will become a legend to the polycount community haha. I'm not the best when it comes to human anatomy but honesty no obvious problems stick out to me. Good that you're doing sculpting, didnt touch ZBrush until I was in 2nd year.
make 1st UV for the diffuse etc. maps (overlap and mirror as much as you like), 2nd UV for the baked shadows (every polygon gets its own space in the UV). Bake shadows to UV2. http://www.3dtutorialzone.com/tutorial?id=48
So, you start Photoshop and load only the one file, then record your action? It's worth it to take a look at the 2nd link Bek posted. There are some great tools in there for saving DDS files. A lot easier than problem-solving a custom Action.
Thanks guys, @jeebs, I'm also thinking about giving a 2nd thought towards color. I will see what I can came across and will post it. @D_Wall, right :) . I decided to give it more realism to the character.....probably unconsciously :P
Going through it now, on my 2nd month at wargaming. Has been awesome , I love coming to work BUT its has been really hard and stressful learning the pipeline making sure I can contribute and not seem like an empty shell.
