You still need to be an artist. Ddo is an extremely powerful tool to get an awesome base down fast, but simply slapping on a much of material scans is still going to look bland as can be.
In a PBR engine does applying specular maps make it work in legacy manner or does it have some new characteristics? I see in UE4 there is a node for specular and specular power maps.
4k is hard to power, and Windows 7/8 does not scale well at that resolution. You also need to make sure you have a display port that can do 4k at 60HZ.

oh i'm well aware that the intel mac is affected, just saying even though power PC seems to be another architecture caught up in this, we do no longer use that one.
