Re: Flickering lights when turning
This issue appears to only occur when im in DX11 mode, if I switch to DX9 it doesnt flicker at all. I tried right clicking and going 'play level > play on pc to capture using fraps but that loads up in DX9 mode, so does anyone know how to enable that to use DX11? -

r_fletch_r: I think you are right on the money here, cause I took the image and adjusted the levels in photoshop, and the AO is there but not very noticeable. -

The presentation needs some work on the lighting side, right now the bike almost blends into the background in some places. Reducing the intensity of the depth of field and bloom would probably help, if you lowered the sun closer to the horizon so that canal was in shadows while the bike is lit up it might do the trick for… -

I'd push the highlights on the metal more, right now things are reading more Matte, with some tight bright bits, and like Jessica said some variation on the edge highlights, I think it'll hit a more metallic look. And I agree with Jessica, bigger slashes for sure, make them more noticeable and make them pop. Also maybe… -

Haha, cool :-D The plastic brightness is roughly like that on the Swiss military version of the sig 551, and that's what I'm going for. The plastic does have slight micro-bump-noise in reality, but it's so small I couldn't get it right with the 2k texture I'm working with. I might test adding some noise to the metal… -

(It might just be me, but I'm actually liking how the metal is catching the light in your bottom-right/final example. As if the metal itself isn't perfectly smooth, but is a bit warped from being hammered in). pretty cool model! to mirror... select model in maya's view port and shift right click... mirror polygon (select the axis you want to mirror on and +/- value. (the UVs will mirror for you).
