https://www.cinema5d.com/the-aces-workflow-future-digital-color/ First of all, I'm not sure if I unserstand it correctly but I think I do. And then this is basically a tonemapper. You give it whatever input, and it transforms it into a spacific space. I don't think artists have much to do with this. Not much to do with pbr…
Creating a real physical garment requires some more knowledge and procedure then making it just digitally. Same like producing a 3d print is not just throwing your average 3d model into the printer software Also noteworthy: The fashion industry rather uses clo3d as far as I know. Also I disagree that there is something…
Just wanted to add my Win8 experience so far, TC4400 convertibale laptop with built in wacom digitizer. So far flawless. Running sculptris, wings3d and photoshop on it. OK one issue IE 10 sometimes locks up, but I was expecting new IE issue, so I installed chrome. Chrome + Win8 = good. Also I ignore the start menu. I…
@xChris These are there to serve as a point of reference, and are mostly useful when evaluating the material response as the incident lighting changes. The chrome is of course a bright, fully metallic reflection of the scene; the gray diffuse ball shows the exposure and diffuse lighting information (contrast ratios across…
Thanks everyone. The safehouse figure drawing class has been a great experience. It served as a much needed kick in the ass. I am always working on improving the level of polish in my digital paintings but I agree that they need to hold up to a higher level of scrutiny on their surface. I'll be cleaning up a lot of them…
Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it and thanks a bunch for the article. I also agree with most everything described here. Will get to work making the changes. With the 2d digital paintings I tend to compose better due to the flexibility of the medium, but I also don't tend to think much during this process…
Yeah, I was trying to bake polypaint, also wanted to render out the normals. Thanks Brandon, "project all" was what I was looking for. Unfortunately the normals from zbrush (I flipped G and everything!) look absolutely hideous in 3ds max. I also tried creating the normals in 3ds max using the process described in a digital…
LOL! That brought a tear to my eye. ;) Only have two degrees, I'm afraid; nothing to do with digital art. Most of the things up on the wall and shelf are Military-related. The hat is from a visit to OktoberFest, quite some time ago; when we were stationed in Germany. The little bundle hanging on the wall, on the right, is…
Made a digital Walkman, not based on any particular model, but pulling elements from a few different models. This will actually be in her coat pocket, so it won't really be seen, so I definitely went overboard. I will most likely do another pose with it in her hand (not showing the pocket that it's in though, since I don't…
you can change the precision setting in the channel box to display more digits. if you type your movements in the channelBox or component editor you should be able to move any number you'd like. i'm not sure about direct viewport movements, but have you tried to setup your grid? and don't forget to adjust the clipping…
