Hey guys, I'm trying to get good at sculpting in ZBrush and gain an overall confidence in working with the program. Here is my initial sculpt which I am going to attempt to turn into paper...
Of course  Top left is the initial pattern, then the pattern + support edge-loops made into a cylinder, then the bottom right is how it looks with the seams removed to smooth it properly, and then finally with it all closed up.
Is the pen nib-consumption on the new intuos pro really that high? I have a Huion GT 190 with 9(!) Nibs and i never replaced the initial one within 2.5 years :D
Thanks, chronic. That fixed it right up. And thanks everyone for your help. The question was initially posted some months back and I've since put that model to bed but it'll be useful to know this in the future.
Didn't get a response from you on my initial FB message a few days ago, looks like a may have slipped through the cracks. Send you another message to confirm :)
Fuck yea, drawing props! I dunno why but i find this really amusing haha. I'll dump a rough initial sketch done prior to sketching out some props for context!
@pogo I will have to take a look at that. May be a quick fix. I released the initial tools for Maya users here. [Finally] The FBX export is still being worked on, but the rest works as expected.
this is a bit dangerous, as we might end up with tons of clones. i am not sure it is that good for creativity. but it could be very helpful for production. in any case, it is a great initiative! very well done!
Thanks! I used the Slash brush a lot with a long lazy mouse radius, and there was a lot of redrawing lines til they were perfect haha. Retopologizing after the initial sculpt also helped a lot! :)
Yes, exactly! Essentially, in the initial cylinder, there should be enough divisions that you shouldn't need to add extra edge loops to keep your hard corner after you've extrude that panel inwards.
