Dang, must have been moving around too much to spot you. I was repping greentooth as well. I made the trek from MD with some friends and had a great time. It was bigger than last year and the presentations were pretty stellar. John Platten's keynote was awesome.
I too have been away but i get my fix every night by stalking the forums. I so want to texture some of the heads but i can't no 3D aps here.... only 6 more days untill i can go back to my #MD and MAX7.
This was posted in #md earlier and I am going to have to say I need to see more before I believe much of this. Somewhere in the article it claimed of "1ms lag times." That is something that just throws the red flag on this to me. I'll stay skeptical til I see some more on this.
Hey mal, yeah finally broke the chain. =] Good to see you still kicking around here. And war... I still miss your #md stories. Glad to see you found something more lucrative to keep you busy than wearing out keyboards in IRC though! Congrats =]
Hey guys, so I'm trying to model some clothes for a character i'm doing. I kind know how to use MD but I don't know how to find patterns and stuff. How do y'all pros use it? Like, you learn the basic patterns and then you change it for the character you're sculpting? And If so, where could I find some patterns? Thanks!
yeah, if its your first time, try all the ideas. They all have merits for different situations. Probably easiest way for zippers and buttons is to add them in MD. It's got simple tools for that. Then you can bake them into normal map, or perhaps retopo into simple shape and bake onto that for more depth (like if you were…
Exported clothes from MD to Zbrush and start to think about the problem of triangulation and the "deformed sewing" that i was having importing them into Z... "Then i do a major change...Decided to continue with this without modifying it accord the concept, for simple purposes: First time doing this workflow". After i see…
Thanks everyone you've been great. After the advice I received here I decided to ask my MD. I'm still waiting for a response. I'll let you know the outcome. Individual replies below: I can't really complain about the pay. Its good. However my single wage supports a family of four. Not sure I agree with this :)
It is just for personal work, but my goal is to produce game assets, so good to know! I'm aware that MD doesn't give the cleanest/most realistic geometry, but I try to get the basic form as close as possible to the final look so there isn't as much sculpting involved in Zbrush. I know I need improvement in both areas, so…
This came up in #MD today, if you don't feel like running out and buying the game you can download the "trial" which as far as I know is the full client and the only thing making it a trail version is that you sign up for a "trial key". So if you have been thinking of giving WoW a try, now might be the time =) For The…
