http://www.blendernation.com/2012/06/04/non-blender-3d-printing-in-steel-silver-ceramics-and-rubber-like-material/ New shapeways materials, also a new shop where you can sell your designs! Pretty interesting.
I'll say right off the bat, the design is super noisy. Its kinda hard to tell which end is which, or that its actually a sword. You really gotta tone down them engravings and silver patterns as a first step.
Ignorance is bliss and I just killed it by reading this thread. I had no idea Adobe had a bad rep among artist. And I've always been wishing photoshop and painter could merge. Is there no silver lining at all? Is Adobe that awful?
hay Stephen, did you use quick silver hardware render ? or just preview if hardware render the how grid is in ? and if preview then i tried making previews but i didn't get the quality can you help me out?
Thanks for the reply Bek! I agree more smoother and sharper lines would be much better. But it was my first attempt at hand sculpting with a tablet. This archeological find is what i was going after i liked the lesser white of it showing a little age on the inlay silver.
May a suggest maybe try a lighter or brighter metal to go with the gold like maybe a silver look. It looks pretty good if using photoshop for your reference art remember to use layers and use the shift key to draw straight lines like ng.aniki said.
Looking awesome! One thing that's standing out apart from the vents is the silver panel I've circled in the image. In the concept it looks like the top of the panel is "hugging" the bottom section. I might be wrong or it's the angle of the render, but I thought I'd point it out anyways..
That was some funny shit, man... though no longer. He will be missed. I remember us sneakling his albums fromthe parent's cabintets to listen to on our record players... (Records being the black vinyl circular media that predated CD's :-)). And Silver Streak was great. Scott
Well I think you should look at the silver lining here. Coming from a 3D architectural visualisation background, will definitely look good on a CV if you go looking for an environment artist job (provided of course that you have a good portfolio too).
Thought i should try my hand at a high res vette.. making this for my dad for x-mas.. working from real life ref, and next to the exterior, i plan to model bucket seats and the dash and steering wheel.. color will be silver exterior w/ red interior
