Ahhhh I see. I used TexTools to apply smoothing groups to UV shells across my whole UV map. Should should I select both these shells and apply one smoothing group to it: Because for this object I need a seam somewhere... Please tell me what's the right way to go.
Hi There is a link problem with the character skinning artist position. It leads to interior artist job. Anyway, I would be interested to apply for the skinning artist, but I have a mix of skills that also apply to other areas, like facial rigging. Can you please add the correct link or pm me if you can.
Also, it only pixel snaps if there is a map that contains pixels applied to the object. So if you have pixel snap on and no materials applied yet it won't snap to anything. The default UV checker pattern is procedural and won't let you snap, as it doesn't contain pixels to snap to. Another reason to use a custom checker…
Not sure if this was intentional or not, but whatever textures were loaded for the previous model are applied to the new model when it is loaded. I would expect the model to be loaded without any textures applied. Also, a nice feature might be the ability to rotate the model as I think that might be easier than moving the…
It depends on what kind of studio you're applying at. I stick to stylized low poly stuff so I still include some 5 year old assets in my portfolio; if you're applying to snazzy AAA next gen studios you should probably get rid of everything that isn't PBR.
Thanks to everyone who has been applying. We are now currently focusing our efforts on finding a qualified 3D Character/Creature animator. If you would like to apply for freelance animation work, please send your reel to: justins@zqgameglobal.com Previous knowledge of animating for games expected. Thank you.

The first two screenshots are the low poly with just the normal map baked in Substance Painter, which looks great besides the circled, flat area. That area and the quarter circle extrusion are the only parts of the low poly…
Hey guys, I've recently made the decision to start looking for a new job and leave my current one. Although my portfolio isn't up to scratch I applied for my first position today at a really awesome studio, I hope I get the job! It got me thinking though - How does one go about applying for a new job whilst still remaining…
Hi guys, I hope someone can help me with this. I've entered the artstation environment challenge and I've come across an issue I'm having. I haven't used Designer much before with bespoke objects, but in this instance I'm creating the Wild West scene and I've created some bespoke rock formations. I've unwrapped these rocks…
