That a really creative way of using N-Gons to get a pretty damn good result, well done! I also just kind of assumed that it would be less of a hassle to just handle the deformation inside of Max as opposed to going through the trouble of exporting to ZBrush and then exporting it back to Max. Very useful!
As a creative person already living in close proximity to the Weta studio, I think I'd be the ideal candidate to replace mr Del Toro. All I need is a megaphone. "You. More elf! You. Too much elf! You. Get your boobs out." "Brilliant" seems to be the general consensus.
^what he said also, maybe adding some large print graphics or logos would add a nice touch- TDR did some nice stuff for wipeout and maybe some sort of belt like form? I think some sort of creative buckle would go a looong way.
Very creative, i'm sure you feel good about yourself for being the first person ever to make this observation. Hey guess what? Cricket has nothing to do with insects, infact its a silly game with an odd shaped bat! Certainly all fans of this sport must be absolute idiots.
Great job dude keep it up! One crit at the moment... Get more creative with your props. You have one rock and one tree, at the very least you could copy them around. and add a bit of life and variation to the scene. That may also lead to ideas for new pieces. :)
Bigtime - thanks I think this is the sort of thing I was looking for. Next time I'm iterating I'll try it out. Definitely the "no more leftover groups" sounds spot on. Creative sheep - I think this is all basically the same. I don't know what the poly limit is but I'm sure that's not the issue.
"And I really want to learn hard surface modeling, since I love mecha and vehicles." Why not aim at becoming a mechanical designer then ? You'll get to be more creative with the subject you love, and you will have no tool barrier to go up against since all you need is pen and paper.
Looking very promising Slash are you planning to use the original character's texture or is this just placeholder art? Depending on what I'm doing this weekend, I would like to call Dibs on Patriot, should have a concept up once I've finished work and got my creative juices flowing
I'd be interested to gain insight to others strategies about all aspects of being creative with in the realm of game art. It has for sure been something have I been struggling with over the last couple of months since I graduated from college. Need to get Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger...
this was answered in my thread yesterday. basically it depends on the engine your using. some engines support normals mirrored entiredly down the models center. some engines can have a bit of creative mirroring, and some engines dont support mirroring at all. so which engine are you going to be using?
