Knald crashes on startup, I cant find any fixes for it And I cant use Gimp to generate the clouds because it refuses to generate in 16 bits, I'm not sure what to do, Even if I copy the image to Photoshop and save the image at 16 bits the stepping still occurs because the cloud was generated in another mode. I can generate…
I would *HIGHLY* recommend that you take a step back from modeling just now, and draw out concept sketches of where you want this to go. In fact, just print screen your model and draw on top of it, trust me, your life will be a lot easier if you know what you're modeling before you model it. I'm really glad to see that…
What.. I don't even think you understand how cutting and extruding works to create edges, you have edges that look like they're manually cut and that is rarely needed. This was the tutorial to anyone wondering: http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/blender/character-modeling-in-blender-basix/ Use this as the front/side image…
I actually ran across this link in the Unity 3D forums. (in a thread discussing various iPhone game solutions) http://www.sio2interactive.com/HOME/HOME.html It seems to be a working iPhone 3D rendering engine. It's apparently built with Blender in mind. A potentially good solution for any Blender-heads who want to make an…
I've always had problems making panels for my hard-surface models but lately I've started drawing on the meshes surface directly (Grease Pencil in Blender) to outline the panels and then extract these panels by cutting them out from the original surface with the knife tool. This workflow makes it a lot easier to plan out…
So I learned a lot about Blender with this guy -- mostly that "Banana" shapes aren't as scary (with a LARGE brush size) as learning all the Transform and Scale BS that comes with Blender. That said, considering the model sheet was pretty janky and inconsistent (the eye placement... *shudder* ...how do you deal with that…
Cycles in blender can render with gpu, cpu or both together, but gpu for stuff that doesn't have simulation is just so much faster. Also have you considered eevee? Even if you wouldn't end up with real ime for your final shots you would have a bunch of control inside blender for quick adjustments compared to a game engine.…
I think I will submit my environment at this point. I spent all the time i have available for the challenge and need to move on to other projects. There are some W.I.P. shots earlier in this thread. Thanks PolyHertz. I've given it a go but I still get strange shading: Tried it a few times to make sure I'm doing it exactly as you've written but I get the same result. I tried it on another object too and although the results are okay I still see weird shading here and there. Going to give this same object a try in…
Since my last post I've hopped over to Photoshop to add in a UI: (Blender + Photoshop) I've then spent a fair chunk of time figuring out how to get my content from Blender and PS into Unity so that I can turn this into a basic, interactive prototype. I noticed that the 2D interface lost a noticeable amount of image…
