Have you tried reformatting? If that doesn't work, most likely cause is your hard drive going bad from my experience (has to do with problems reading/writing windows background tasks into memory). It's also possible to be RAM/VRAM related, but typically if those parts were going bad it would just result in crashes. -

That direction still needs to be averaged by the previous neighbor's edge direction to define curve? not jes "normal" direction alone ( not just straight? ). Well presenting a fully interactive (walking) environment to a client can be a very impressive thing, especially if they are used to only getting images. @stororokw There's gotta be a way to do get the"alpha map from frame buffer" with what I have. I've got Knald, toolbag 3, and Maya. No vray or Max that I can rely on. I'm at a loss ><. Maybe there's a way to blend the maps in PS from the bakes I get. -

they have far more integrated mental ray features exposed and are fully native shaders. apposed to ports to mimic maya's shades. the same advice would be true if you were useing vray or renderman etc. -

On the point - I've seen several quite senior artists with high-quality offline rendering work in their portfolios (VRay renders etc) it doesn't seem to be a detriment if you already have a bunch of good quality realtime work.
