As mentioned, exploded bake will solve most of the problems. Also the overlapping issue Logithx mentioned, I've only see that happen when baking AO with mental ray in 3ds Max. Other baking methods don't have this problem.
It looks like the problem is solved in ext2 sp1, because I don't have this problem Also, the marqueue selection works just fine too. I can slect just a tiny corner of polygon to get the whole selected.
Lol i remember unifing normals with my meshes, everything looking fine. I follow Badcog advice and reimport, every normal looking oposite direction. Just facepalmed myself, problem solved. Thank you guys
Hi! This sounds very strange indeed, as you said in the other thread the person solved it by formatting, which leads me to think it has something to do with the HD. Are you running low on diskspace, or are the PS scratch disks full?
Hi man, looks like your problem is kinda same with this one from AREA. Problem about the bad triangulation, can be solved with adding more verts on the long spline. Hope it help you in some way. _Revel
The only thing i would have liked to see is one more division on the top piece, you can see a very visible line running through which could have been solved with one more division.
aight, heres some pics; grateful for any help. and joao; ive read a lot of stuff in that thread, have tried some, but havent solved it yet. Edit: im using a cage in 3ds max, and ray distance in Xnormal
I am extremely happy right now as I have solved several problems today including this one. Here is the correct algorithm. If anyone needs help with vector field transformations, I am very happy to help. :)
SOLVED! I found the solution (for my problem anyways). Whenever it stops working, it's because the "conform" value is set to zero. All I have to do when it happens is Alt + Click and drag to boost that value and it works again!
Nope, everything is unwrapped, 100% sure. I've already solved the problem. Those artifacts appeared because my lowpoly was too far away from highpoly at that places. I just squeezed it closer and the black shading disappeared)
