That UV layout... I want to shake your hand. That is damn impressive. I'm an idiot, so, uh, what is the third map? Reflection? It's not full gray scale so I'm thinking it's not a AO or depth map, which would otherwise have been my first guess. Love tower wars, by the way! -

Ive seen people do some interesting illustration stuff with it. One guy I know syncs it up with zbrush to create costume bits and other details, then poses the characters with it for quick illustration/comic layouts. Its super convoluted but it works for him. But yeah its mostly used for trash deviant art. -

Hey thanks. I straighten as many borders as possible and leave plenty of space for mipping. Usually I do a quick texture resize to test if any UV islands are too close together. As long as the textures use the same UV layout you don't need to do any other special treatment. -
Re: Map baking Problems
Did you save your UV layout and load it? It looks like the vert index table for the saved mesh didn't match the mesh it was imported into so it screwed up where the faces should be. If you click on a face in the UV editor does its position match in the viewport or did it jumble it all up? -

What up Lucas! Don't be afraid to show breakdown shots of how your stuff is real time ready (wireframes, normal map shots, texture layouts, ect.) People like to see how you achieve the final look and result. Plenty of examples on my website if you need them. www.nrose.net -

was sposed to be like shoulder height.. o well :/ thansk makecg, but iv set the site up to be really easy to update.. SSIs and simple layouts, etc. i actualy saw that before starting to make it but assumed you had to pay for some reason. probably would have saved some time lol -

as someone who has to look through portfolios I dont recommend using a personal website. 90% of personal portfolios have such a strange layout and strange taste to them leaving a rather poor first impression. On the other hand everyone will be instantly familiar with artstation and the first impression will be your art and… -

@FEARIAN Thanks for the feedback! And yeah, I was being a bit too hung up keeping an even quad layout. I also got feedback about increasing the poly count in order to make it look more... real? Don't remember the words they used. Anyhow, I'll give what you suggest a go!
