Very inspiring creature designs up here, and I love the functional but relatively simple look of the spacesuit, looks very convincing! Also checked out your portfolio, you've got some really interesting/inspiring stuff going in there tyler!
The way her hips balljoints jut out in the front is sort of extreme, and takes away from the clean shapes. I'd make the balljoints break the silhouette a bit less, which seems like it'd still be functional, looking at reference for dolls.
I'm confused about how the 2D cars and guns relate to the above scene. I like the look of the scene, and it seems like it'd be more functional to design the scene, make a list of needed props/sprites, make those, and assemble the scene.
should also note, if you set that ini setting in your ue4 project and create content, then later want to switch back - a function will be added to your materials that will try to convert to a metalness workflow. It isn't perfect, but its pretty damn good.
Ctrlpaint is definitely on my studying list! As for concept art, while it is in my wishlish, at this point I'd be happy if I can work in the industry in some other function and keep honing my skills until I'm truly ready for concept art.
That makes sense, thanks a lot for your help, guys! Just one more thing: How do you make a close up of your weapon like here? Is there a function for that ingame or do you have to do it in 3ds Max/Photoshop?
Here's a little update on progress, gonna start adding the cables now to piece it together. Then I'm going to go in and add all the small neat details that gives it a lot more depth in terms of function, as well as the possibility for more color and accents.
best thing to do is look up the max script help. check the data type functions return and expect as input and then read their help. if you have a variable and you want to know its data type or class type classOf variable
What about the rest of Photoshop? May I see that as well? :) One thing to note: please ensure that this is a copy of PS sourced from the Creative Cloud application. Third-party versions of PS may result in incompatibility with the Suite's intended function.
before you ask a question, just make sure it has not been answered before by using the search function time and time again, people start with questions, which are just a search away from being answered, don't be one of them :)
