yeah i think thats what most people do, but you can get a lowpoly out of that with some decimation software and then unwrap that in max or whatever program your using. Also if you paint the fixes on a level, you can copy that layer to your new normal map. Do you any good tuts on sculpting in mudbox? Ive tried some stones… -

Heya good job so far, i would recommend thinking about these assets as a whole also, since they are game props ect for instance your box would be a small part of your scene and often reused so a smaller texture like 512 or lower would be great for that, Heres orb for some good stone reference i found this really useful… -

Oh ya that guy in with the crab is toast. The guy says hello and the crab thinks, man another human to use as a screaming skipping stone on the water. One, two three skips thats more than last time. that's an interesting thought, i never really saw of it that way. how i see it, i'm simply taking them piece by piece. (i.e. core is stone, horns are...horn) it does make it harder to bake them i suppose, how shadow of one might affect the other, etc. it's just, i have very little interest in modeling reality =P. i s'pose…
