But doesn't the uv mesh need to stay inside the 0-1 space ? I suppose this wont work (or i've been doing wrong all the time ) Can't you just bump the uv resolution in the uv editor ? The more I read about it the more confusing it is :s

Ahh in that case, it gets difficult. The reason I don't think it will work is because quite mode is very specific to what triggers the error. In this case I don't think quitemode has an option for export (you're exorting right?), but the render "missingExtFilesAction:" might work, but I doubt it because its not triggered…
Well I've decided to move on to texturing just to keep myself excited about the project. As I texture I'll continue to add props where they are needed.
