I guess we should just work in bed all day and become blobs, no wait, that wouldn't be healthy. Maybe we should work in swimming pools all day... But then our skin would could really pruney, and we might be electrocuted. Standing desks are probably slightly better than sitting all day, but you should really be moving if…
I definitely fall into the camp who would say it's more about practice and passion than any born talent. All of the things that contribute to being a good artist can be practiced and learned. Some people may be genetically predisposed to have better awareness of shapes or colors at birth or something like that, but if…
You're right, I just didn't want to name anything specific. Also I haven't played WoW in years and years, so I just passively hear about this stuff. But it's not the exp bonus. What really rubbed me the wrong way is them selling those for-looks helmets for money. It's like that celestial horse they were selling for a…
Spent a year in FZD and these are the progress I've made, comparison photo at the end. C&C welcomed ! please let me know what you think! I have more works posted on my artstation as well, if you're interested, here it is ! https://www.artstation.com/theartofjz
I think it's a factor of age as well as inspiration. where you find inspiration helps. I used to do a massive amount of creative work, 3d Models, Illustration, even writing in my 20's and early 30's. But now I find it difficult to do more than sketch, and then not that often. Doing things differently, such as different…
For my workflow Blender is far more efficient than Maya. It also helps in my case that because I'm into creating characters my main tool is Zbrush and Blender compliments it perfectly, which I find to be better than Maya anyhow and particularly when it comes to modeling. In fact I find Maya to be unusable for modeling. The…
Anyone know how to show an object with a screen space mapping texture at full resolution when rendering? While in viewport, the texture looks high resolution. Once I render with mental ray, the texture shows low res. I tried it with a standard material and mental ray material, same results. Thanks
I want to setup a basic light setup for an interior room in Maya using mental ray. Aiming for just a simple bright lit room. I just to render out some images and have a look at my shaders and textures I am using mental ray. Any suggestions welcome.
The cage is there primarily to deal with smoothing splits. Although they're also useful for tweaking the direction of cast rays to reduce distortion and such in the bake, as well as limiting the ray distance so you don't catch bits of the mesh you don't want.
Laydgrace, here is the shader setup from one of our V-ray project: http://i.imgur.com/a3vzTMx.jpg%22]http://i.imgur.com/a3vzTMx.jpg Just as Najim states, better export options for V-ray will be available for 2.0! Hope this helps :)
